School at Sea
School At Sea é um projeto onde 34 alunos com idades entre os 14 a 17 passam 6 meses no navio escola holandês Regina Maris. Este projecto tem como principais objectivos: o desenvolvimento dos talentos, capacidade de liderança e autonomia dos estudantes a bordo. Eu tive conhecimento deste projecto em 2014, quando o navio escola fez escala no porto de Horta e tive a oportunidade de realizar uma visita guiada a bordo feita pelos participantes, fiquei impressionado com a coragem que tiveram para enfrentar este desafio no mar . Desde então, tenho a vontade de realizar este sonho de conhecer novas culturas, novas realidades, aumentar o meu conhecimento na área das línguas e ao mesmo tempo combinar actividades escolares com a prática da vela.
A escola no mar conecta o conhecimento educacional às experiências durante as expedições de bordo. Desta forma os jovens a bordo são desafiados a trabalhar em conjunto para resolver os problemas e desafios que encontram no dia a dia. Daí o slogan do School At Sea ser "Você navega, você aprende."
The School At Sea is a school in the sea where 34 students aged 14 to 17 spend a period of 6 months in the Dutch school ship Regina Maris . This project has as main objectives : developing talent , leadership skills and autonomy of students on board. I learned of this project in 2014 when the school ship made ​​a stop at the port of Horta to which I had the opportunity to conduct a guided tour aboard students , I was impressed by the courage they had to face this challenge in the sea. Since then I have the will to achieve this dream to meet new cultures, new realities , increase my knowledge in the area of languages ​​and at the same time combine school activities with the practice of sailing.
The school at the sea connects the educational knowledge to experiences during shipboard expeditions. In this way young people on board are challenged to work together and draw on each other from the creativity and responsibility hence the school slogan in the sea to be " You sail , you learn ."
